Faith and Politics – Reflect on your commitment to society

21/27 luglio 2025
Comunità di Villapizzone

Inspired by the seminar traditionally organized by the Jesuits in Venice, and ahead of the Jubilee week in Rome, guided by the spiritual legacy of Ignatius of Loyola through meditation, prayer and contemplation, come and explore Christian commitment in public life, both personal and collective, through this one-week long experiment in Milan !

This session will enable young people from France, Italy and Europe to explore the links between faith and politics through reflecting, each in his or her own way, on how to commit to service for the common good in a world of contradictions.

The reflection on promoting the common good is organised around two main themes:

· Service in public commitment: justice depends on people responding generously to a personal call to work with and for others, with faith as the moral compass for commitment.
· Discernment: service requires shared attention to the lives of others, taking into account the complexity of human motivations, as well as the presence of God’s Spirit.

To this end, we will share our personal stories of public service, discuss the challenge of public life in the face of power, alongside our need for community and its limits, in order to find our way and revisit our journey.
